AP Studio Art 2D Design and Drawing
Teen Program
This course is designed for students who are seriously interested in developing mastery of the conceptualization, composition and execution of their artistic ideas. Through studio practice students will investigate both the formal visual elements and principles of design with a focus on quality of work, concentration and breadth of individual artistic expression. Students will use informed and critical decision making to assemble a comprehensive body of work, and will be expected to participate in individual and group critiques as they continually work to revise and improve their work. This program encourages students to explore their own interests and passions so that they may contribute both inventively and critically to culture through art. Students will be expected to develop a comprehensive, college-ready portfolio for evaluation that demonstrates a deep and personal understanding of the elements of 2D design and drawing.
