Art Studio for Kids Project

Art Studio for Kids Project is a division of Six Principles fine art studio. The Project is aimed to 2.5 years to 14 years of ages. A passionate team of artists, educators and visionaries. Our collaborative efforts are focused on the development of progressive learning environments and programs that will inspire both children and their communities. Inspired by Reggio Emilia approach we provide imaginative learning opportunities for children that spark curiosity, foster critical thinking and present challenges that are engaging and serious fun!

Visual Art 

All of our Visual Art programs are based on Artist’s Open Studio concepts. They are designed to focus on learning the Elements and Principles of art. Using a nationally recongnized choice-based art education approach, our programs teach  Artistic Behavior theories which allow children to focus on artistic processes, develop their technical skills and explore personal creativity. Children are encouraged to explore different kinds of artist’s materials such as watercolor, charcoal, oil pastel, chalk, ink, paint, paper and clay and much more. Visual Art is year round program follows SD46 school calendar.

LEGO Robotics

LEGO Robotics is aimed to allow student to discover the different aspects of STEAM                                                ( Science,Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics ). It is designed as a progression of skills, from beginner to intermediate and then advanced. Our signature LEGO Robotics program has three stages level of challenge: Beginner 101 & 102- Lego Robotics introduction, simple machines kits, Intermediate 101 & 102- Lego Robotics, programmable motorized kits, Advanced 101 & Extreme- Lego Robotics, Mindstorm NXT kits. LEGO Robotic is running as a Term 1 ( Oct-Feb ) and Term 2 ( Mar-Jun ) program. Each term will cover one skill level – students must commit to a full term.

Digital Media Art

Animation Introduction: Moving Image ( Beginner ) Explore the differences between Cartoons, Comics and Animation and learn how effectively incorporate humor and gags. Using their artwork students will experiment with storytelling and create a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction piece with a emphasis on character development, brainstorming, pacing and staging. Students will get an overview from sketching to basic Classical Drawing, and the principles of hands-on 3D modeling. In the end of this session, students are introduced to the basics of Adobe Photoshop programs and digital animation using Mac computers and ipads.

Animation/ Claymation: Chapter 1 ( Intermediate ) Students learn the basic principles of animation to develop an understanding of character movement, screen design and storytelling. Using industry-standard applications to explore a variety of digital and analogue animation techniques, students will complete short films. We will be exploring digital photography and drawing to manipulate images as well as 3-D modeling construction.

Chapter 2 ( Advanced ) This term will focus on story, scene development, imagery using primarily Adobe Photoshop and other digital editing software. Specific attention will be placed on using digital portfolio media to showcase and organize student work. Students will create unique, video stories and follow the process of brainstorming storyboards to script, shoot and edit their projects in a professional manner. Please note: details are subject to change to meet the needs of each student. The Animation is running in Term 1 ( Sept-Feb ), Term 2 ( Mar-Jun ).
